ASPE offers official post-nominal letters for individual members, recognising your affiliation with our association and the professional standing of our community.
Eligibility and How to Use Them
Current, fully paid individual members are entitled to use the post nominal ‘MASPE’.
Free, student and new graduate members registered as Associate may use ‘AMASPE’.
Fellows receive the post-nominal ‘FASPE’ and fellowship confers lifetime membership.
You may place the post nominal after your name in professional correspondence, conference materials, biographies, email signatures and publication credits (for example: ‘Dr. Jane Smith, MASPE’ or ‘Jane Smith, FASPE’).
Please do not use ASPE logos, branding or suggest formal ASPE endorsement in place of the post nominal unless you have express written permission from ASPE.
Nominating Someone for Fellowship
ASPE welcomes nominations for Fellowship from members, existing Fellows, organisations or other parties with direct knowledge of a nominee’s contribution to primary education.
Nominees must have demonstrable evidence of eminence and impact in primary education or an inter disciplinary field that has influenced primary practice in the United Kingdom.
Nominations require a completed Fellowship Nomination Form accompanied by a covering email from the proposer and, if available, a seconder.
The most important element is the Statement of Justification of no more than 500 words, written by the proposer, which should clearly explain why the nominee is eminent, outline the principal impact of their work and set out how their contribution has advanced primary education, citing specific evidence where relevant.
Completed forms and supporting documents should be emailed to [email protected].
The Membership Subcommittee meets quarterly and will communicate decisions within three months of submission.
